Intro to TIMS User Guide

The TIMS User Guide is a comprehensive manual designed to assist users in efficiently managing surveys using the Tracking and Information Management System (TIMS). Developed by UNICC, TIMS serves as a centralized platform for overseeing and coordinating survey-related activities across various sectors, including Energy, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), Shelter, and Settlement.

TIMS offers a user-friendly web-based interface accessible through any web browser, ensuring seamless accessibility and usability across devices. Users can securely log in with their unique credentials and gain access to features specific to their roles and responsibilities. Global Admins, Country Admins, and Editors are empowered with varying levels of access, ensuring efficient data management and control.

The platform provides a holistic view of surveys and their status, streamlining the survey management process for users across different roles and locations. Through the "Pending Activities" page, users can conveniently filter surveys based on sectors, locations, timeframes, authors, reporters, assignees, and survey statuses. This centralized hub enables users to oversee survey progress, manage assignments, and make informed decisions based on real-time data.

Adding survey data to TIMS is a straightforward process tailored to specific user roles and access privileges. Whether it's an Energy Survey, WASH KAP Survey, Shelter Survey, Settlement Survey, or Monthly Report Card (MRC), users can efficiently input data using dedicated survey templates. Global Admins can add surveys to all sites, while Country Admins and Editors are granted specific permissions to add surveys within their designated country or assigned sites.

Bulk importing functionality further enhances data management capabilities. Users can upload multiple survey records at once, saving time and effort in data entry. The platform's synchronization process ensures that data is accurately reflected in TIMS after successful imports.

Collaboration and accountability are key aspects of TIMS. Admins can assign surveys to specific users, streamlining data collection and ensuring responsible ownership of survey tasks. Additionally, users can change survey statuses, reflecting progress, completion, or issues encountered during the survey process.

Exporting survey data is made simple through TIMS, allowing users to export data in XLS format from the Surveys page. Additionally, users can export survey data from KOBO, a powerful tool for field data collection, and import it into TIMS for centralized data management and analysis.

The TIMS User Guide equips users with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the platform's powerful tools and features effectively. It serves as an indispensable resource for individuals involved in survey administration, enabling them to optimize survey management processes and make a positive impact on the lives of those being served.

As TIMS continues to evolve with regular updates and enhancements, the User Guide remains a dynamic document, ensuring users stay informed about the latest features and functionalities to maximize the platform's potential
